RULES
Playable Characters
- Appable characters must be canon characters.
- Characters must be 16 years old or older.
- Multiple versions of a character will be allowed if their canons are different enough. Ex: Elementary and Sherlock BBC are different enough that both Sherlock Holmes can be accepted. These anomalies will be attributed to imperfect DNA prints.
- The same PB can be used for two characters and be recognized as being identical or similar in game. These anomalies will be attributed to the imperfect cloning and DNA printing process.
- Characters must be in human form. If you have a character that normally has a different form, you must find a human PB for them.
- Players may have up to three characters in the game at any given time. Requests for additional characters will be reviewed on a case by case basis, depending on player activity and character history. Please choose your characters carefully, apping and dropping a character in a short period of time doesn't help development for anyone involved.
- You may play two characters from the same canon if your characters have a valid reason not to interact on a regular basis.
Character Abilities
- Upon entry into the game any special abilities (mutant) above those of a normal human will be initially repressed.
- Mutant abilities may be slowly regained through a variety of means - accidental, upon the release of a new clone, or intentional on The Computer’s part. You must discuss regaining use of these abilities with the mods prior to playing them out.
- Powerplaying isn't allowed, players are always free to ignore you if you use powers against their character without so much as asking if it's okay.
- Fourth walling is not allowed.
Activity, Absences and Dropping
- Activity checks will be posted on the 1st of every month. You have until the 10th of that same month to reply and indicate if you would like to remain part of the sandbox.
- If you fail to check in by the 10th, your character will be dropped.
- Notice should be posted for absences greater than two weeks. If you repeatedly vanish for extended periods of time with no word, you will be removed from the game.
- If you are dropping a character, please let us know as soon as possible in the drop post.
Players
- You must be 18 to join this game.
- Be respectful of your fellow players.
- Keep drama IC. If you have an issue with another player, please try to resolve it between yourself and the player before contacting the mods privately.
- Remember that IC is not OOC. Some characters are terrible people while their muns are sweethearts. Don’t take IC actions personally if they are true to the character.
Roleplay Content
- No godmodding and no infomodding.
- Always mark all adult and potentially troubling content correctly and hide it behind a cut. All explicit and graphic content should be locked and use Dreamwidth's built in age restriction feature as necessary.
- Stay in character to the best of your ability.
- Please indicate on posts if they are open or closed to specific characters.
Plotting and Pace
- Each game daycycle will cover 7 RL days and begin on the Sunday of each week and run through Saturday.
- Players are encouraged to develop plots independently, but a plot involving many characters or affecting the world in a large way (ie. causing mass destruction such as a city block or more or NPC deaths) must be run by the mods first. A little destruction, such as blowing up labs, buildings, equipment, etc. are highly encouraged.
- Except for The Computer, High Programmers and Secret Society Heads, players are welcome to use NPCs (Infrareds, Secret Society members, Higher-level clearance citizens, etc) in any way to suit their plotting needs.
- Missions will be assigned to randomized characters on a weekly basis. These are required for the characters to complete, but not for the players to play out. There will be a debrief comment available under each mission for players to indicate the outcome of the mission. This can be played out to your heart’s content or handwaved, as long as you have input from the other player or players involved in the mission.
- Salary credits will be added to your character’s financial post at the beginning of every daycycle. If your character uses credits to buy supplies, buy from the infrared market, bribe citizens, pay off gambling debts, pay off blackmail threats or donate to charities or secret societies, or any other withdrawals you must subtract that from your financial post. Even if you don’t play out the action, but merely mention it in play, please fill out a Transaction Form.
- Missions may come with rewards or fines, depending on the outcome and The Computer’s particular level of logic for that day. These must also be indicated as deposits or withdrawals if they affect your credit balance. Ex) You are rewarded with three crates of TeaTime, a popular beverage. You sell it on C-bay for a profit of 500cr or 500 credits.
